We are still human in this age of AI

In the previous article, I talked about the challenges companies are facing when integrating AI into their operations. A few weeks have passed since then, and I've added other thoughts on the topic that I want to share.

AI is the hot topic, but that doesn't mean everyone understands it.

Just because you and I know what we're talking about doesn't mean the rest of the world does. I'll tell you that in your immediate surroundings there are people and professionals who have all the necessary tools to inform themselves, to investigate, and to

Worry , they have no idea what AI is. If anything, they refer to it as a GPT chat that serves as Google's way of asking questions. (Sometimes they even invent the acronym GPT.)

The value that people give to things was, is and will be biased

Those who know something about AI want to implement it, but many don't know how. They talk to companies that are much clearer about it, that are offering proven, researched, qualified, and, most importantly, sensible solutions, and they get excited imagining the endless possibilities they have to make their businesses more efficient and "modern." Like everything, when it comes to taking on the world, words are enough, but when it comes to actually doing it, it's not so easy. This audience believes that since everyone is talking about AI, it's a piece of cake, and developments and services don't cost anything. In a crude summary, their willingness is to pay peanuts when it comes to numbers. Of course, the products and services they sell do cost money because they put a lot of work behind them. Ironic, isn't it?

Those who are reinventing themselves are giving it their all.

Fear, a lot of fear about what AI is coming, about the future, about our jobs, our lives, our relationships, and our emotions, among many other things. These are ghosts that haunt us every day. They're there, and I believe we're capable of looking a few of them in the eye.

There is a mindset hungry to learn and understand all of this on the part of many.

Those who held important positions in monstrous companies from one moment to the next no longer hold them. Others, recognized in many disciplines for being the best, and for hovering in the halls in the face of others' opinions, are now nobodies. And I mean nobodies on a professional level. Because we've grown accustomed to defining ourselves by a position, not by what we know, much less by who we are.

Hence the current desire to build a personal brand. The hunger to put themselves out there, otherwise they'll fade away. And it's in this desire that those who seemed distant, those who were in a kind of stratosphere, are willing to create synergies, to learn, to join with others under the same humility to learn, understand, and build on all the opportunities this AI madness brings. Bravo for that!

Take care of what you love: In the age of AI, this won't be the last time technology brings us closer together and separates us at the same time.

I've never thought about humans as much as I do at this point in life. It's terrifying to see everything that's happening. But the reality is that this has always happened, and I was reminded of this by someone recently who asked, "Who's going to send me flowers now?" when emojis arrived. Because at that time, the only thing anyone could imagine was that an emoticon was capable of expressing any emotion or intention. And I don't think that was the case; humanity prevails over all inventions.

Optimistic closing

AI brings us closer together, helps us gain more information, become more efficient, and focus more on thinking rather than performing repetitive tasks. This is where the key lies in raising awareness and embracing this era as something that will enhance our humanity.

It's true that today's 20-year-olds prefer virtual relationships and aren't even interested in sex, which is why they suffer from erectile dysfunction, because they do everything through screens.

But it is also true that the human essence is unique, that life stories, our anecdotes, our memories, and our emotions are in each of us.

Treasure all of that, because an AI can't take it away from you. Your skin, the emotion of a kiss, a hug, the butterflies in your stomach, the sweat on your palms—all of that is yours alone.

A crude and optimistic closing

Set limits on AI, respect its life, its being, and above all, respect others. As a professional, educate yourself, learn from others, nourish yourself with verified, relevant information, and surround yourself with all those people who are giving their lives to understand this wave of AI, to embrace it, to make it available to humanity in a responsible manner.

We dedicate hours of work and research to help your companies improve every day. There's a lot to discuss, especially in the age of AI — and I can say that at Navigamo, that's our mission: to understand what's happening in the world, what's happening with technology, but never forgetting the human being.
